IRAQ PLAYS HUGE PART IN BIBLE AND BIBLE PROPHECY

Geography has never been one of my strong points so for Christmas a few years I received a book of maps with lots of overlays in it.  I was stunned by what I discovered.

We all know Israel is the most written about country in the Bible. But did you know the second most mentioned country is Iraq? Lots of the prophecies in the Bible concern Iraq. When you get into the Book of Revelation, there's more than one chapter devoted to Iraq. Whenever the Bible says Mesopotamia, Land of Shinar or Babylon, it's referring to Iraq. So just in case you think oil is the only reason we should keep our eyes on Iraq, you need to rethink it.

Here's some things that happened in what we now call Iraq:

The garden of Eden was in Iraq, so Adam and Eve were created in Iraq. Satan tempted Eve in the garden in Iraq. That was the first time Satan was mentioned.

Abraham was from Ur, which is in Iraq down south just a little above the Persian Gulf.

Rebekah, Isaac's wife was from Nahor (in Iraq) and Jacob and Rachel met and spent 20 years in Iraq.

Read the first and second chapter of Daniel and you'll the very first world empire was in Iraq. It was also called the cradle of civilization.

God sent Jonah to Nineveh to prophesy against them. Nineveh is in northern Iraq.

The book of Esther happened in Iraq, and the book of Nahum was another prophecy against a city in Iraq.

Nimrod established Babylon in Iraq. Remember when the people decided to build the Tower of Babel to reach heaven and God caused them to all start speaking different languages? Yep. That all took place in Iraq.

When God had enough of the evil in the land, he had Noah build an ark, gather up the animals and Noah's family were the only ones saved. The ark was built in Iraq.

Assyria conquered the 10 tribes of Israel. Assyria is in Iraq.

Of course Babylon, which destroyed Jerusalem, was in Iraq.
Belshazzar, king of Babylon, was in Iraq when he saw the hand writing the warning on the wall.

When Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylon, he carried the captive Jews into Iraq.

It was in Iraq Daniel was thrown into the lion's den and that the three Hebrew children were thrown into the fiery furnace.

Ezekiel preached in Iraq as did Peter.

According to the whole 18 chapter of Revelation, Iraq will be suffer many plagues that will all come in one day because they have spilled the blood of so many Christians.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON ISRAEL AND ALSO ON IRAQ.
